Work and Wealth

          There are not many explicit examples of work and wealth within The Wandering Earth. Since all of the people who are not working as astronauts are living within the underground cities they are only shown for the first few minutes of the film. However, the astronauts get to work on the space station and have special privileges such as going outside and access to controlling aspects of the engine systems. From this idea, it can be inferred that there may be a "Winner-Take-All" style of society in place.

          One more possible example could be the creation of new jobs due to automation and technology advancements. In the film there are lots of new technologies developed such as Earth Engines, and transport vehicles. Having this new devices requires new jobs to maintenance them or use them. One of the main characters Zi'ang Han is a driver of these large transport vehicles and this is an example of one of the new jobs.
